After lots of arsing about, we've finally set a date for the release of our single "We're Not Who You Think We Are". It'll be available as a download from all of the usual
digital distributors (we'll post a list nearer the time) from Monday 18th February 2008 for two weeks only as a taster, with a full release coming in May.
Also, we've booked the Queen Charlotte in Norwich on Saturday 16th February for our launch party. More details on that, once we've booked ourselves some excellent bands.
19/10/2007 - EDP Next Big Thing semi-final, plus London and Luton gigs coming up!
Good news folks, we're one of the twelve semi-finalists in this years EDP Next Big Thing competition.
Our semi-final will be taking place at Norwich Arts Centre on
Saturday 27th October, where we'll be performing alongside Alex Carson, Graffiti Sun, Canine Feline, Rory Hill and Ten-Ten-Tackles for the chance to appear in the final
at the UEA on November 18th.

gigs at the Purple Turtle in Camden and the Hat Factory in Luton.
26/9/2007 - Demo review in Beat Motel, gig at Sonic + single update.
An old demo CD of ours has been picked up and reviewed by fanzine 'Beat Motel' who describe it as "riotous, inventive and slightly unhinged greatness". You can now read
the full review on the reviews page of this site.
Also, we've just confirmed a gig at Sonic in Norwich on Wednesday 3rd October, full details are on the gigs page. And finally, the single is very nearly finished.
We had a little extra editing to do but that has now been completed and the artwork is very nearly finished too so within the next couple of weeks things should start moving
forward quite quickly.
5/9/2007 - Update time again.
Sadly, we've had a little delay with the single but not to worry, we're certain that it will all be worthwhile in the end. As soon as we have a release
date we'll let you know. On the plus side, the video shoot went very well and a big thank you to those of you who came along. Also, we've been working on some
new songs so make sure you come along to one of the gigs we've just confirmed to have a listen!
1/8/2007 - More details on the video shoot.
As you should already know, we're filming a video at B2 in Norwich on Sunday 12th August. We need to get some people along to be in the crowd for the shoot so if you fancy
being in a music video this is what you need to know:
• B2 is situated out the back of The Brickmakers. (www.b2venue.com). Hope to see you all there!
20/7/2007 - We're making a video!
Finally, recording and mastering is all finished now and we're delighted with the outcome. Next on our hitlist is a video, and we're going to need your help.
On Sunday 12th August we'll be filming some live footage for the video at B2 in Norwich and we'll be needing some of you lovely people to come along and be in the
crowd, so if you fancy it, come along, you might even end up on the
telly.
If you are interested then just let us know by email (theband@kunk.co.uk), or via myspace and we'll give you more details nearer the time. Cheers!
15/6/2007 - Update.
Sorry for the recent lack of activity. We've been extremely busy lately working away, playing a wonderful gig in Zurich and then getting down to
recording our single. To read all about our recent shenanigans, head over to our MySpace page and have a look at the blogs.
We now have a week off next week before heading back into the studio with Jack to add the finishing touches to the recordings, and then hopefully we'll start being a bit more active.
Bear with us though please people, I have a feeling it's going to be worth it.
James KUNK
17/5/2007 - The single!
Next month we'll be recording three songs for our very first single. The tracks will be "We're Not Who You Think We Are", "Public Image Ltd" and "Little People".
Recording will start at Woodworm Studios in North Oxfordshire on 5th and 6th June when we'll be laying down the drum tracks, then we'll be heading down to Soul Valley Studios in London for the rest of the recording and mixing etc, all of this will be produced by Jack Ruston (McQueen, Reuben, Kubb).
If everything goes to plan, all three tracks should be mixed and mastered by the end of June. Hopefuly we'll be able to get some video diary footage from our time in the studio to post up on our myspace page to document this momentus occasion.
We're also making plans for a music video to accompany the single, which is pencilled in for release in October on the newly formed Plastic Sun Records label. Check them out on MySpace.
And finally, we're now starting to book dates in October to coincide with the release so if anybody would like to book us to play, or if you'd like to see us play in your area then drop us an email at theband@kunk.co.uk and we'll see what we can do.
3/5/2007 - KunK to support Nine Black Alps!
Yes it's true! We're main support on Saturday 5th May at Norwich Arts Centre. Also we've just confirmed a date at The Loft in Cambridge on the 29th May but unfortunately we've had our date in Glasgow cancelled due to a fuck up between the promoter and the venue. We will be looking for a replacement for this gig. For more details and ticket information on these gigs please go to the "gigs" page. 24/4/2007 - Quick update!
Hello folks, just a quick bit of news for you, some good and some not so good. Unfortunately the Watford gig of our mini-tour in May has been cancelled, completely out of our control but nevermind, we'll be looking for a replacement gig. The good news is that things are moving along nicely in terms of planning the single after a meeting with Producer Jack Ruston in London last week and hopefully we'll have some firm details to give you by the weekend. Awesome. 27/3/2007 - Sheffield gig cancelled
Unfortunately we've had to cancel the gig at Under The Boardwalk in Sheffield on April 2nd. Our apologies to anyone who was hoping to come along and see us there, don't fret though, we'll be looking to get a date booked in Sheffield as part of our
tour to promote the single later in the year. 21/3/2007 - KunK go international + debut single!
We're rather excited to tell you that we'll soon be making our first trip overseas as a band. We've been asked by a charity in Switzerland to fly over and play at the 'Comrads Concert' in Zurich on Saturday 26th May. Expect some interesting photos and blogs after that little trip! For more info on the Comrads charity visit www.thecomrads.org. As if that's not enough, we have more exciting news for you. We're hoping to get some studio time booked in June to record our debut single. We're planning a full official release on both CD and download so you'll have no excuses for not buying it, and we're hoping to book a nice tour around the time of release. The tracks will be "We're Not Who You Think We Are", "Public Image Ltd" and a brand new song that doesn't have a title yet. Although two of the tracks are not technically new, we have chopped them about a bit and they're both going to be re-recorded so you won't be buying anything that's been available before. More news on the single release will be coming your way all the time. Woo! 1/3/2007 - Lark In The Park gig cancelled
Unfortunately our gig at Lark In The Park, Islington has been cancelled. The promoters have decided to end their contract with the venue and therefore they've had to cancel all of their upcoming gigs at that venue. Sorry to anybody planning to come along, it really can't be helped but hopefully we'll sort out something else in London soon.
28/2/2007 - Indie Deathmatch - We need your vote!
We've been entered into an online Battle Of The Bands competition for Maps Magazine called Indie Deathmatch. Basically it's a knockout
competition where two bands go head to head in an online vote, with the winner progressing to the next round. Voting has just started for round one where we're up against
Mohanski. Go and vote for KunK to win please.
15/2/2007 - Here comes another update.
It's been a little while since we've updated so here is the latest KunK news. Check out the interviews page to read an interview that we recently did for We Want The Airwaves Back as part of their "Airwaves Back Introduces..." feature. Thanks to Sara for doing that. Also, we've been reviewed once again by the lovely people at R*E*P*E*A*T, this time by Rosey. It's up on the reviews page now so take a peek, it's good! Tickets for our Wombat Wombat co-headline gig with Underground Railroad are now on sale. Also added to the bill are John & Jehn and Compact Pussycat. Tickets are available from NAC Box Office on 01603 660352. Last but not least, the new songs are coming along nicely. We seem to be coming up with stuff thick and fast now and are currently in the process of recording some rough demos of them. With a bit of luck one or two might start making their way into our live set in the near future, exciting stuff! 23/1/2007 - MonkeyFeesh Music Interview added + new gigs + free CDs!
Hello readers, just to let you all know that our recent(ish) interview with MonkeyFeesh Music is now up on the website, just go to the "Media" section of the site and i'm sure you can work it out from there. Have a little read of it. In other news we're looking to go on a bit of a road trip later in the year, we're still waiting to hear back from one of two people but if you check out the gigs page you'll see that we now have gigs lined up on Friday 1st June in Leeds and Saturday 2nd June in Glasgow. We don't venture up North all that often so make sure you come along and give us plenty of support, it promises to be rather good. Finally, those of you who have contacted us recently about signing up to our mailing list and claiming your free CD will be pleased to know that we'll be sending out the first batch this week. We've had a great response from everyone so it may take us a while to get to yours but please be patient, everyone who has asked for a CD will be sent one. Enjoy.
10/1/2007 - Lammo plays KunK on Radio One again.
Steve Lamacq played our song "Hey! Hey! Hey!" on his Radio 1 show on Monday night as part of the 'My Scene' feature, which this week was on Norwich. We were in excellent company with our friends and fellow Norwichers The Brownies, The Incidentals and Le Tetsuo also getting some airtime. You can listen again for seven days via the Radio 1 website.
21/12/2006 - Vote KunK + more gigs lined up for 2007!
You may or may not know that we've been getting regular airplay throughout the year on XND Radio's 'The Indie Experience' show, and now we've been put forward as their possible Band Of The Year. There have been heats going on for the last few weeks and ours is tomorrow night. What we need you to do is tune in via their website www.xndradio.com at 9pm and then head over to their forum to vote for KunK. Your help and support is, as always, much appreciated. Also, keep an eye on our gigs page. Dates for next year are already being lined-up, the latest being a Wombat Wombat gig at Norwich Arts Centre where we'll be co-headlining with french band Underground Railroad. More details will be added to the gigs page nearer the time.

8/11/2006 - Update!
It's about time we let you all know what's going on in the world of KunK. We're currently getting our heads down and are working on some new songs, I think we have about six new ideas that are nearing completion and will be unleashed on people soon, although we may hold onto them until after Christmas and then hit you all with a whole load of new stuff at once. Also, we've just started looking for someone to manage the band. We have so many things going on that it's hard to keep up with it all so if you know of anyone who might be interested in working with us then just drop us and email and let us know. If you have a little look on our gigs page you'll see that we have a couple of new dates up on there. One is at the Waterfront in Norwich supporting Electric Eel Shock and McQueen on November 28th, and the other is at Lark In The Park in Islington on December 1st. We should also be making a return to Cambridge at Cellar Bar 8, on December 11th but that is still to be confirmed to be sure to check back soon for more details on that one. A couple of things, we recently received an excellent 10/10 review from R*E*P*E*A*T, hopefully we'll be able to get that up on the website soon for you all to see. Also, Wayne has done an interview for the Monkeyfeesh website which should be up on their website sometime in the near future, as soon as it is we'll let you know.
3/10/2006 - ITV to film our gig in London this saturday!
We've just had an email from the promoter of our gig this Saturday (7th October) at Lark In The Park, Islington, saying that ITV are going to be there filming. We're trying to get some more details about the show but it goes without saying that we really need as many people as possible to come along and show us your support, especially in front of the TV cameras. Who knows, you might even get on the telly yourself!
28/9/2006 - We are still alive!!
KunK like new songs
You may have noticed that we've gone very quiet of late, this is partly down to the fact that we've been really fucking busy with lots of things going on behind the scenes, and partly down to the fact that we're cooling off (very slightly) on the gig front to concentrate on finishing some new songs. We've got three new tunes that are very near completion and we're hoping to slip into our set sometime soon, and we're also looking to get some more demos recorded so you can expect to find 'We Are Not Who You Think We Are' and our new version of 'Skeleton Key' coming your way in the not too distant future.
More gigs (I did say that we're only cooling off slightly) Just for anyone who hasn't checked the gigs page recently, we've got new dates confirmed next month in Norwich at the Hog In Armour, we're making a welcome return to Pendle Bar at Lancaster Uni, where we'll be playing with the excellent Adventures Of Loki, and we'll be playing our first gig in Bury St Edmunds at Studio 3 courtesy of BringSomeEars Promotions. In November we'll be back in Norwich for an awesome looking gig at the Marquee (check the gigs page for the line-up)in aid of Warchild, and we'll be heading back to the Exchange in Luton thanks to PDM Promotions. Then, last but certainly not least, in December we're lined-up to appear with Popular Workshop at their gig at B2 in Norwich.

Also on Direct TV, channel 831, and on AOL. The show started in the late 90's as a concept to alert the industry to the presence of amazing and talented musicians. We know that Hey! Hey! Hey! was one of the songs played but as yet, we haven't been able to find out what the other was. All That Rocks
You should know by now that our song "Hey! Hey! Yes, you read it right, we're going to be on MTV2, in a way. It's been in the pipeline for a little while but we've kept it under wraps until now because we've been waiting for confirmation but we can now tell you that our song "Hey! Hey! Hey!" is going to be the theme song for a new MTV2 show called "All That Rocks".

Wilde Club Records is relatively chuffed to announce that its myspace page now has four items for your listening pleasure:
ARMY OF ONE - Black Rain The two Army Of One tracks were on the Black Rain CD Single (available from www.wildeclubrecords.co.uk)
The tracks by KunK and the Gore Vidals will feature on the next Wilde Club ep (no.5) out next Spring.

Barry Newman 2/11/2005 - Update!
Two more dates have been added to the gigs page. On Friday November 25th we'll be returning to the Twist in Colchester and the following Friday, December 2nd, we'll be playing at the Annexe in Spalding. More details for these gigs will be added to the gigs page as and when we get it. We don't anticipate playing too many more gigs other than those two until the new year as we want to get down to turning all of the little jams and ideas into brand new KunK songs, as well as maybe squeezing in another trip to the studio.
On the subject of studios, we'll be getting "Sara Wishes She Was A Robot" mastered tomorrow at Sanctuary Town House Studios in London by Doug Shearer, who has in the past worked on projects by Morrissey, Futureheads, Jetplane Landing, The Fall, and Mudhoney amongst others. Once the mastering is complete we can start to look forward to the release of the Wilde Club EP next year and hopefully some radio airplay too.

We have now received yet another nice live review, this time by We Want The Airwaves Back, they came along to our recent gig at the Waterfront and went away very satisfied with our performance. Also, we've now had our little visit to Mill Studios. Once again we were ably assisted by the excellent Dave Pye, we recorded three songs in total, a nice little version of Sara Wishes She Was A Robot for an upcoming EP release by Wilde Club Records, then rougher "live" recordings of Things, People & Stuff and Skeleton Key, which can both be found on our MySpace page. We'll keep you updated with more details and release dates for the Wilde Club EP as and when we get them.

If everything goes to plan we're hoping to be gigging again by August at the latest. Also, keep checking back here next week as we're hoping to have at least one demo version of a brand new song online.

15/3/2005 - Battle Of The Bands 2005
Thanks to everyone who came to see us play at the BOTB, it was a great night with a bumper crowd of 400 odd people. Unfortunately it looks as though we won't be in the next round due to a disappointing lack of points, we did pick up some new fans though. It seems as though the crowd really liked us but the judges didn't, you can read some reviews on the BOTB Website and read comments on our performance on the messageboard.
19/2/2005 - Gig News
On Thursday 10th March KunK will be taking part in Lock and Loads Battle Of The Bands competition at the Marina Centre in Great Yarmouth. With it being a BOTB event support from the audience is always good so if you're in the area please come down and jump about and stuff for us. Entry is only £1.50, can't be bad. More info can be found at www.battleofthebands.co.uk where KunK will soon be featured in the "Inside The Band" section of the website.
Also, we'll hopefully be playing a gig at The Annexe in Spalding, Lincolnshire in May. We're still in the process of getting a definite date and everything sorted at the moment but hopefully we'll be able to confirm that soon. Check out their website here.
16/2/2005 - KunK update
As you have probably noticed things have been a little quiet on here for the last few weeks while we've been trying to get our shit together. After some serious thinking and talking, Gareth has decided to re-join the band. Alex is taking a little time out but will also be re-joining in the near(ish) future. The four of us wanted to give it another go together and we're determined to make things work. Also, i'd like to add a special mention to ex-Nemo guitarist Andy Heffer who filled in on drums for us at our gig at the Steamboat. After only two practices Andy came in a did a fantastic job for us, and was all set to be our new drummer until we had a heart to heart with Gareth and Alex.
26/1/2005 - It's KunK Jim, but not as we know it
As of today Alex and Gareth are no longer part of the band. As anyone who has seen us live will know we have been hit and miss at best and it was decided that it was best for all parties if they left the band. KunK will still be carrying on as a two-piece until a new drummer can be found, anyone interested can contact us at theband@kunk.co.uk.
2/1/2005 - Norwich Arts Centre gig announced
KunK have been asked to play on the first Wombat Wombat show of the year at the Arts Centre in Norwich on the 21st January. It is of course our Wombat Wombat debut so it'd be much appreciated if you can all make the effort to come along and see us. Ticket info will follow.
