22nd Feb 2010 - Norwich Arts Centre gig / Tour dates  / KEXP Radio / Blog update

NORWICH ARTS CENTRE GIG

This Saturday night (27th Feb) we will be playing at Norwich Arts Centre with Joe Carnall & the Book Club, Dusty Soup and Caomhe. It's going to be our last gig for a while, so we'd really like to see plenty of people there. Tickets are available from the NAC box office or online at www.ueaticketbookings.co.uk.

MAY / JUNE TOUR DATES

We're now starting to book dates for our UK tour, to coincide with the album release. So far, dates have already been confirmed in Luton, Chelmsford, Sunderland and Edinburgh. Keep an eye on our myspace page or check the 'live' page for an up to date list!

KEXP RADIO

Once again the excellent KEXP Radio in Seattle have shown their love of KUNK by making 'No Way' their "Song of the Day" for Tuesday 23rd February. Check it out here.

BLOG UPDATE

If you have a spare minute or two, check out the latest blog update about our recent trip to London. The link is over on the left there!

11th Jan 2010 - Album time!

So, Christmas and new years has all gone now, hope you all had a lovely time!

Since our last update, we've been hard at work writing a number of new songs ready for our debut album. We're really excited about the new stuff and can't wait for you to hear it, and we're heading back in to the wonderful Leeders Farm this weekend to get some of it recorded! We'll keep you updated as to how recording is going through our twitter and regular(ish) blogs. It's a little early to start talking about release dates, but the plan is to get the album out sometime around May.

In other news, 'No Way' was included in KEXP radio's 'Music That Matters. Vol 181' podcast. Also, 'Game Over' has been getting played on the 'Late Riser's Club' on WMBR in Boston.

Don't Forget!!

KunK gigs are going to be very few and far between while we work on the album so if you want to get a sneak preview of the new songs, you'll have to come to one of these gigs.

23rd Jan @ PJ McGinty's, Ipswich.
27th Jan @ Waterfront, Norwich.
19th Feb @ Powers, London.

Details for each gig can be found on the live page.

9th Dec 2009 - Game Over, you die.

Sorry it's been a bit quiet on here lately, we've been taking a very short break. Anyway, we've just added a lovely review from TSM Radio of the 'No Way/Game Over' single to our press page, check it out! We've also just posted a new blog on here and our myspace page.

Advance tickets for our gig at the Norwich Waterfront on January 27th are now available from our online merch store. Check out our 'Live' page for more details. It's also worth noting that if you buy your tickets from us, you'll also receive a free 'No Way/Game Over' download card, along with a KunK beer mat and some stickers.

One more exciting thing that I nearly forgot to mention. We've just found out that 'No Way' has been getting some play on US Radio. DJ John Richards has been playing the song on his morning show on KEXP Seattle/New York.

That's all for now, more updates soon!

9th Nov 2009 - Adam Hills fun and 'Game Over' played on BBC 6 Music.

Last Friday, we played an impromptu gig at the Norwich Playhouse, organised by the comedian Adam Hills. The gig was set up on stage during Adam's show at the same venue on Thursday night, after we contacted him on Twitter! Check out our blog now to read the full story.

In other news, the 'No Way/Game Over' single is still getting more radio play. Last night Tom Robinson played 'Game Over' on his 'Fresh On the Net' show. You can listen again for the next 7 days on the BBC iPlayer.

15th Oct 2009 - Single played on BBC Radio 1!

We're delighted to say that Huw Stephens played 'No Way' on his BBC Introducing show on Radio 1 last night. You can listen again online by clicking this link and you'll hear us about 50 minutes into the show. Feel free to send an email to huw.stephens@bbc.co.uk to tell him how much you loved the track and that you'd like to hear more KunK.

Also, we've had a request from Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music to play 'Game Over'. We're not sure exactly when we're going to be played, but you can find more information on the show on the BBC website.

14th Oct 2009 - Another review + Radio interview tonight!

We've just added another review of our new single to the 'press' section thanks to the lovely people at Organ Magazine, check it out now.

Also, we're guests on the RollOn show tonight on ICR FM. Tune in to 105.7FM if you're in the Ipswich area, or www.icrfm.co.uk to listen online. The show starts at 8.30pm and we'll be chatting about our new release, the departure of Hannah, our upcoming album, and we'll be playing some of our favourite tunes.

12th Oct 2009 - No Way/Game Over released + first review

Today sees the release of the No Way/Game Over double A-side single. Download links will be added to the release page in the discography section of this site as we get them, so keep checking back.

Also, the single has just been reviewed by the Tasty Fanzine. Head over to the 'Press' section of the website to read it!

23rd Sep 2009 - No Way/Game Over radio play

Promo copies of the new 'No Way/Game Over' double a-side single (available to download from Oct 12th) have now been sent out and we're really pleased with the early reaction we've had. Within a week of sending out the promos the single has been played on BBC Norfolk Introducing, XFM New Noise, XFM X-Posure, Future Radio and WCR FM. Hopefully more airplay will follow as promos have been sent out Huw Stephens (Radio 1), Zane Lowe (Radio 1), Steve Lamacq (BBC 6), Tom Robinson (BBC 6), Marc Riley (BBC 6) and Alex Baker (Kerrang!).

Feel free to email or text the DJ's above requesting some KunK, it really does help!

13th Sep 2009 - Hannah has quit KunK

We're sad to say that Hannah has decided to leave the band. Due to her job, she's finding it increasingly hard to dedicate as much time and energy to the band that's needed. Although we're totally gutted, we totally understand her position and will remain good friends. We'd also like to thank Hannah for the part she's played in KunK for the last four years, you will be missed!

This now means that we're looking for a new bass player. If you feel you're up for it, or know someone who might be, please get in touch. We have a good idea of what we're looking for but we are open to offers, so if you're in to what we do, contact us.

James, Wayne & Ritchie.
